Screen Printing Wars: match day report

It was a scorcher of a Pedestrian Sunday here in Kensington Market but that did not deter the teams from giving us one hell of a Screen Printing War. Huge thanks to Team Mounting Debt featuring Susan Van Beek Rogers & Kayla Preston-Lord, Team Army of Darkness featuring JP Spanbauer & Laura McCutchan and Kid Icarus reps Jackie Lee and Joanna Labriola for being great contestants.

Terror Lake provided an amazing soundtrack for the event, a big big thanks to them, you guys rock! If you couldnt make it on sunday, check them out here.terror_lake

It was tough choosing a winner but in the end thanks to a rad guitar stencil, summery colour blend and having all event info on the poster it was Team Kid Icarus who took home the trophy.

While all this was going on, the wonderful Christina of Hatchet was our guest vendor and selling some beautiful hand made bags, cushions and home wares. Kudos to Christina for withstanding the sun!

Screen Printing Wars -its back!

Stick it in your calenders!

June 29th is another wonderful Pedestrian Sunday here in Kensington Market and we will be holding the highly anticipated Screen Printing Wars!

The contestants this year feature our very own Jackie Lee battling against JP Spanbauer and Mounting Debt’s Susan Grace Van Beek Rogers. There will be Toronto band Terror Lake providing musical entertainment!

In a nutshell, Screen Printing Wars is a battle between teams of professional screen printers with a challenge to produce the best gig poster within a one hour time limit and with limited resources.

They only have one hour to pull something together. Will they have time to complete the job? Or will it all end in disaster? Find out on Pedestrian Sunday, June 29th, 205 Augusta Avenue. 1pm sharp!

Check out our Facebook event page for updates, found here.

Along side SCREEN PRINTING WARS, we’ll have an outdoor setup featuring screen printed home decor and accessories by Christina Obuch of Hatchet! www.hatchetmade.com
Join us Sunday, June 29th from 12pm to 5pm. (Screen Printing Wars 1pm to 3pm) — at Kid Icarus.
