Spectra of the Stars and Nebulae

The newest print in Kid Icarus’ multi-colour series, “Spectra of the Stars and Nebulae.” In the mid 1800s, physicist Gustav Kirchhoff & chemist Robert Bunsen established a link between chemical elements & their unique spectral patterns. Spectroscopy, the study of the interaction between matter & electromagnetic radiation, significantly advanced the understanding of stellar diversity & laid the foundation for modern astrophysics.

Designed & hand-printed by Kid Icarus in our Toronto studio. Measures 12 x 16 inches. 4 colour screen print. Printed on natural paper.
