Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize Posters!

If you’ve been following our blog you got to see this years Slaight Family Heritage Polaris
Prize 2017 nominees. A prize that honours Canadian albums of the past!
These posters were designed by top Canadian visual artist and we got the pleasure to print them.
You can purchase any one of these posters at our store or online, as well as the event, happening
March 13th at the Drake Underground. Posters sell for $40 each.

K-OS

Todays Slaight Family polaris Prize Feature is
Band: K-OS, Artwork by: NOEL NANTON

K-OS or Kevin Brereton is an alternative hip hop musician/producer from Toronto Ontario.
Everybody knows the K-OS song “crabbuckit” but other amazing hits include “The Love Song”,
“Sunday Morning”, & “Get Up”.

Poster design is done by Noel Nanton, the Creative Director of Typotherapy.

Feist

Born in Nova Scotia, Canadian Indie Pop singer Leslie Feist has been making music since 1999.
Her work has received many awards including 4 grammy nominations.
Aside from her own band, she has been a part of many bands such as Peaches,
Broken Social Scene, and Bodega.

Eric’s Trip

Todays Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize feature is
Band: ERIC’S TRIP, Artwork by: JESSICA FORTNER

Eric’s Trip is an indie rock group based out of Moncton New Brunswick.
They were formed in 1990 and are known for their distorted guitar sound.

The poster is designed by local artist Jessica Fortner,

Harmonium

Todays feature for the Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize is
Band: HARMONIUM, Artwork by: SEBASTIEN THIBAULT

Harmonium is a Quebec rock band formed in 1972.
They were hugely popular, with sold out stadiums especially in French Canadian provinces.
The album L’Heptade depicts the 7 stages of consciousness in ones daily life.

Sebastien Thibault is an award winning illustrator with clients like the Rolling Stone,

Glenn Gould

Our 3rd Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize musician Is Glenn Gould.

Glenn Gould’s was a classically trained pianist who favoured historical composers such as
Bach, Mozart, & Haydn. He did remarkable interpretations of these classics especially with Bach
(whom he favoured)

Artist Tom Froese is an internationally known artist who has been featured in numerous
publications such as the Monocle, Harvard Business Review, GQ France & more.

The Band is a roots rock group from Toronto Ontario.
This Iconic band has given us top hits such as “The Weight”, “Don’t Do It”, &  “Atlantic City”.

Todays feature – Band: GORDON LIGHTFOOT, Artwork by: LOUISE REIMER

Lightfoot is known for there folk rock & country sound.
Internationally known with hits like “If You Could Read My Mind”, & “Early Mornin’ Rain”,
his songs have been covered by several famous artists throughout the ages.

Louise Reimer was born in BC Canada and is currently living in Toronto Ontario.
Her work has a soft pallet textured look inspired by textiles.
Shes worked with, Toronto Star, Polaris Prize, Kazoo Fest, United Way, Refinery 29,
& many more.
