On the Grid is a community focussed global initiative started by NY design studio Hyperakt. The uniquely organized website is a”designer’s neighbourhood guide” to cities around the world, curated by creatives from all over. What a fantastic online publication to be a part of!

Press: Toronto Life November 2013

Kid Icarus was happy to be featured in the November 2013 issue of Toronto Life Magazine: City Home edition. Check us out on page 88.

Kid Icarus played a bit of Kensington Market leap-frog last year, moving from a cramped spot on Nassau to this larger store around the corner. Owners Michael Viglione and Bianca Bickmore have expanded their screen-printing studio, which turns a swift trade in posters (many around $35), pretty “Greetings from Toronto” postcards ($3), and custom wedding invites. If you’re feeling crafty, $20 DIY doll kits are available in three skill levels. Or you can leave the embroidery to the pros: on a recent visit, the store had a stock of adorable merit badges by local artist Lee Meszaros that celebrate everyday accomplishments like “rolling with the punches” and “having meat on your bones”. 205 Augusta Avenue, 416.977.7236″
